in today's Watch Tower, Brooklyn/Patterson contradicted Jesus.- the Pattern.
by prologos inin paragraph 17 the wt writer alleged that we can not know the exact day and hour, "--but we can and do know the season--"-- we are living in that season--"but.
when jesus was asked a simlar to the wt theme question about the kingdom "--when --"or:.

Star Trails
by ILoveTTATT inone of the things that i have only done once... but i would love to do again and again until i perfect the technique, is called star trails.. my camera is a canon 60d.
there is a way to "hack" the canon dslr's so that they get some amazing functionalities, such as taking a picture just by clapping (really cool for when you want to take a picture and no one is able to push the button) and taking pictures at certain intervals.. you can read more about this "hacking" on .

I LOVE taking star trails . . If you wanna find the North star , get the big dipper in sight then look where the last two stars of it are pointing, that's the North star. . It doesn't have to be central on the frame, but if it's in there SOMEWHERE then the circles will appear. . . Good thinking time, star trail shooting time.

Nice conversation
by GoUnion inhello everyone i just wanted to give a litte update on what happened today with my tolerant, but still active jw wife.
she was at the sunday morning meeting today and when she came home she told me the wt study was about the revised overlapping generation setting.
there has been some tension whenever we discuss my differences with current wt beliefs so i was surprised she brough this up.

Small victories eh? My wife leaned across during the item about using older issues of the magazines when the point was made that they don't go out of date, and whispered scornfully "yes they DO!" And just yesterday she was talking about hating being made to feel guilty for missing a meeting or ministry. Tiny steps in the right direction are SO encouraging....

it is a difficult concept to communicate and so if it is not explained well , it is understandable that we would dismiss it.. i sincerely want to talk with people who want to learn more or see what all the fuss is about.
we are all learning and increasing our knowledge all the time and it is good to go over facts with critical eye.. evolution we can discuss, looking at the foundational facts and evidence, one at a time for you to go and check, agree or disagree with and return.. no pressure to accept it, you can decide for yourself, also no mocking etc of what you have to say.. .

SNARE - I must admit 6 months ago I would have said the evolutionary theory says we all came from monkeys too, it's only through listening to science and athiest shows that I now comprehend the MASSIVE timescale involved and the very specific lineage of modern man.
But here's where I'm going to fall short, fossils! My knowledge of fossils is entirely based on what WT has told me. Fossils, in my brain, are the remnants or even just the imprints, of fauna and flora that died, were embedded in mud, and left their pattern for us to see. According to me, the fossil record shows distinct groupings of 'kinds' or species. There are no 'in-between' fossils proving what evolution says should happen, one species transforming gradually into another. And the fossil record also shows that animals appear on the earth in the same order as the creation account.

Definition? Hoo boy. Tiny changes or mutations that prove beneficial to its host, allowing it to survive and breed and pass on to its offspring. Millions of years later we have ipads and cotton buds. I understand that it's not one thing becoming all things in a chain from birds to lizards to monkeys to us, rather mutations branching out in all directions until speciation occurs, is that right? I am SO ignorant about this. I apologise. But maybe me appearing stupid publicly might help someone else in the same boat. Or ark.

Can you help my stuckinarut indoctrinated brain comprehend the current thinking? How well DOES the fossil record support evolutionary theory? Cos I know we're told that it doesn't. It seems that the wt accept evolution within species, but not from species TO species. So are there specific fossil examples following the process of one species into another? (I know, I should just read on 'talk origins' for a year or two, but you DID offer!) Ive been meaning to research this, but got kinda hung up researching wt doctrine instead.
